| The Conservation Department maintains a well-equipped field laboratory. This lab provides researchers and staff with the increased resources to conduct extensive on-island research.
In addition to the basic equipment required for a lab, the Middle Ranch field lab also has a fume hood, autoclave, centrifuge, lab oven, leaf area meter, Mettler scales, and dissecting and compound microscopes with camera and video capabilities.
