Catalina Island Conservancy
MARATHON

This event will feature the exciting marathon course used historically on the Catalina Island Conservancy’s lands, including much of the rugged terrain, spectacular vistas and special challenges enjoyed by Hans Albrecht and friends in the earliest days of the event under his management. In November 2012, it was ranked #6 on weather.com’s “World’s 15 Toughest Marathons” list.

Join the Catalina Island Conservancy as we discuss art and inspiration with nationally acclaimed plein air artists Jeff Horn and Michael Obermeyer. A selection of each of the artists' newest Catalina Island paintings will be available for purchase. The event will include brunch appetizers and drinks, plus the beautiful views from Castillo del Mar in Avalon. Registration is limited.

5th Annual Catalina: The Wild Side Art Show & Sale

A passion for Catalina Island and plein air art come together to create an extraordinary afternoon. The show features nationally acclaimed plein air artists, who will display their interpretations of Catalina's rugged wildlands and scenic beauty. Proceeds from the sale of these unique paintings support the growth of a permanent collection of plein air artwork that documents the Island's "wild side" and the Catalina Island Conservancy's restoration efforts.
