Organic Weddings E-mail invitations: Brilliant Wedding Pages Gifts that Conserve Resources When planning your bridal registry, make environmentally friendly choices such as organic products. Choose products you know you're really going use. If you don't really need another blender, piece of china, set of flatware, etc., ask instead that donations be made in your name to your favorite non-profit organization. If you dont have a preferred non-profit organization, we'd be happy to help out. Check out the Conservancy's membership programs. |

| All that Glitters You may want to re-think the traditional gold wedding band. Much of the worlds gold mining is done in a way that releases cyanide and mercury into the environment. Choose heirloom jewelry, or silver instead of gold. Photography
Packaged Cameras? Just Say No! Dont buy into those over-packaged, landfill-clogging throwaway cameras. Better, ask friends to help you out who own non-disposable cameras. And, digital images are best; store hundreds on your computer but print only the few youll want to share over and over. Menu Planning You might want to feature an organic menu, using ingredients whose production is kindest to the environment. Overall, vegetarian fare is the most efficient from a resource-conservation perspective (and is cost-effective too!).
Pick Greener Flowers Use flowers that are in season to avoid the fuel usage that can pollute. Organically grown flowers are a doubly great find, and, make use of potted plants when possible.
Something borrowed (And, even better, made of natural fibers) Save resources (and money!) by making your wedding dress an heirloom gown of sortsmaybe one worn by your mother, aunt, or a good friend Avoid dry cleaning since today there are alternatives to harsh dry-cleaning chemicals. Choose a dress for yourself and your bridesmaids that you all can wear again. And, wedding ensembles made of hemp are very fashionable. If you prefer cotton, choose garment labeled as certified organic cotton to ensure that tons of pesticides werent used.
