The
Catalina Conservancy Divers (CCD) is a membership support group of the Catalina
Island Conservancy. Most members are scuba divers but there are also members
who are marine researchers, boat owners, and other persons interested in the
nearshore waters of Santa Catalina Island.
CCD members have contributed over 25,000 volunteer hours to research and understand
Catalina's marine ecosystems.
To achieve its goals, CCD sponsors a variety of research and educational activities
for its membership. These activities include a Key Species Monitoring Project,
a Marine Thermograph Project, Research Diver Training Classes, conducting the
Casino Point Scuba Trail, sponsorship of the annual Avalon Harbor Underwater
Cleanup, and other related activities.
