chairmen of the first annual Conservancy Ball, enjoy the music of Les Brown
In 1996 the southern California yachting community celebrated 50 years of
yachting since the end of World War II. To commemorate the occasion, Corsair
Yacht Club sponsored the first gala Conservancy Ball with proceeds going to the
Conservancy.
600 guests in formal attire danced to the music of Les Brown and his Band
of Renown in the Catalina Casino. Auctions, cocktails, dinner, strolling the
beautiful balcony of the Casino, meeting old friends, and dancing the night away
made the evening very magical.
The 1996 Catalina Island Conservancy Ball was held on Saturday, March 30,
1996. This event has become an annual event put on by one of our many yacht club
supporters on a rotating basis. The Corsair Yacht Club is located in Emerald
Bay. |
