It is vital to the Conservancy's mission that it helps local residents of Catalina create a sense of connection to the Island on which they live. We see the children on Catalina, in addition to those on the mainland, as the future stewards of the Island. It is critical for them to learn about Catalina's fragile ecosystems, and understand the importance of keeping the wildlands wild. As part of the NatureWorks suite of K-12 programming, our Education Department facilitates an array of specialty programs including Kids in Nature, Island Explorers,  Course Catalina and more to ensure that Catalina's unique nature lives on in generations to come.
