Your donation will be put to good use immediately, and there are special financial incentives to donate right now. The CARES Act includes provisions that allow taxpayers who do not itemize to receive a partial deducation of up to $300 for gifts made to public charities in 2020. For individuals who do itemize, the CARES Act increases the deduction cap for up to 100% of the person's adjusted gross income for gifts to public charities (previously limited to 60%).
