Catalina Island is home to more than 400 native plants, and 200 non-native plants. This is a guide to the most commonly seen plant species. This is not a list of all plant species on the island. While many of Catalina Island's native plants are also found on mainland California, there are a number of unique species that either occur only on Catalina Island (seven endemic species) or occur on two or more of Southern and Baja California's offshore islands but not on the mainland (twenty six Island endemic species). |
